He and his wife have been friends of the Irwin family for many years, and Richard formally interviewed Steven Irwin and visited his Australia Zoo on a number of occasions, when he was awed by Steve's enthusiasm for saving wildlife. Richard is a prize-winning journalist and author of more than 20 books, the latest of which is Bloodstain, which examines the disappearance of British backpacker Peter Falconio in the Australian outback.
