1897, First edition. A near fine copy of this very rare item. This copy has been professionally rebound in beige cloth boards with brown 1/2 leather. The spine has gilt lining and a dark brown leather title panel with gilt lettering. The original illustrated top board has been affixed to the rear pastedown. New endpapers. The edges are lightly age tanned . Apart from light foxing to the first blank page and title page the contents are fine and undamaged. This copy has two interesting bookplates on the front pastedown. The first being of the famed anthropologist James Edge-Partington and the second of eminent collector Graham Levey. This copy is no. 135 of an unknown print run. A stunning collectors item.
