David Teakle (1810-1895), a son of John Teakle, was in South Australia in 1836 when the governor announced the opening of a new area for settlement. He went hope to talk his family and relatives into joining him in immigration from England to South Australia. By late 1837, David and his family immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia. David married twice (1) to Martha Pegler and (2) to Mary Ann Golden Sanders (the second marriage was in South Australia). Descendants and relatives lived in South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and elsewhere.

1979. First edition. A very good copy with light age tanning of the edges, a previous owners bookplate on the front pastedown and the front free endpaper has been removed. The d/w is near fine with only light shelf rubbing.
