1894, First edition. A very good copy bound in the original burgundy cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine and top board. The boards are lightly rubbed on the spine and at the corners but are otherwise lovely and bright. Apart from very light foxing on the early and latter blank pages the contents are fine and unmarked. This copy has a succession of interesting bookmarks on the front endpapers and the reverse of the front free endpaper. Firstly that of Henry White of Belltrees, then that of well known anthropologist Frederic Wood Jones, then that of well known antiquarian bookseller Ian McGill and finally that of eminent collector Graham Levey. This copy comes in it's own custom made slipcase. Scans available if required.
