This item comprises the 3 volumes of Moore's work all in First Edition format. In order of publication the items are: (1) Extracts from the Letters and Journals of George Fletcher Moore Esq. Now Filling a Judicial Office at the Swan River Settlement. Orr and Smith, 1834. First edition. A fine copy of this exceedingly rare publication which has been professionally rebound in red cloth boards with red 1/2 leather. The spine has 5 raised bands and gilt lettering and decoration. Gilt on the top edge. New endpapers. The contents are in excellent unmarked and undamaged condition. This copy has the bookplate of George Fletcher Moore on the front free endpaper. (2) A Descriptive Vocabulary of the Language in Common Use Amongst the Aborigines of Western Australia etc, Wm. S. Orr and Co., 1842. First edition. A very good copy bound in worn original brown cloth boards with gilt lettering on the top board. The contents are very clean and undamaged. (3) Diary of an Early Settler in Western Australia 1830-1841 etc, The Author, 1884. First edition. A very good copy bound in the original blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine and top board. The boards have only very light rubbing at the extremities and the spine is lightly sun faded. Apart from light tanning/spotting of the edges and first and last few pages the contents are fine and undamaged. All three volumes are now housed in a magnificent custom made presentation slipcase. All 3 volumes have the bookplate of the eminent collector Graham Levey. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase this iconic collection in such wonderful condition.
