1860-1868. First editions. This item is comprised of a complete run of The Cornhill Magazine from the first issue until June 1868 bound into 17 volumes. The first volume is bound in black half leather with marble boards, edges and endpapers. It has gilt lettering and decoration to the spine. This volume has weakened hinges and rubbing and wear to the leather and boards. The contents are clean. The other 16 volumes are uniformly bound in brown half leather with marbled boards and red edges of the text block. The spines have raised bands and gilt lettering and decoration. All the spines are lightly sunfaded. The contents of all these 16 volumes are fine and unmarked and most likely unread. The bindings are also excellent apart from Vol 9 which has a weakened hinge. Over all a really lovely set which would look great on your shelf. Scans available if required.
